Cooperation with parents with the help of children

When building foundations for cooperation it good to remember who is the reason for our cooperation and what we can do for each child. To be able to create an environment where a child feels safe and appreciated it is important to be invested both emotionally and mentally when working with them.

We always want our children to know that we care about them even when they are not in the kindergarten. That is why we always try to have an opportunity to talk to parents when they bring their child or when they collect their child from kindergarten.

We also encourage both children and parents to share with us important or fun events from their free time so we all can get to know each other a bit better and share with one another.

When we have materials, usually in the form of a video or a photo that the child and parent prepare/choose and bring to us, we use our morning circle to present them.

The child then presents and tells everyone about what they brought or answer any inquiries their friends or teachers might have.

Examples of some of the things children and parents decided to share with us:

- a science project*

* The girl presenting it also brought the finished crystal they grew for everyone to see and touch.

- photos from their trips or free time activities

- photos from the hockey match their children participated in

- photos from their visit at the Car Museum

- photos from their dance recital
