Panda Bears and Chinese Culture

I already mentioned that this year I took over a new group – The Pandas. That was why we wanted to learn as much as we could about this type of bear and the land it came from. Our International Dwarves helped us explore.

The girl showed us the photos that her mom took in China. She described the land of pandas.

I used the animation of international dwarves to take the children into the world of imagination and adventure. That was how we got to know a Slovenian dwarf called Jagodek (jagoda = strawberry). He brought to Slovenia a Chinese Elf called Rižek (riž = rice), a Chinese dragon, and traditional Chinese music. The children danced with the puppets. A dragon has a different meaning in China. In spring it brings the light to the country. We created a dragon out of scraps and then danced with it to the rhythm of Chinese drums.
