After our education in Sweden we also thought a bit more on how can we organize our outgoing activities.

We had an opportunity to see different places children visit as well as various ways we can initiate their interest during those activities.

Here we share some of the activities we have undertaken that are a bit more than your usual field trip.

The class went to a open air museum in a bus and we took our class dog with us.

City sight-seeing

We decided to go on an activity where even younger children could participate since we would be back for lunch and nap time.

We took public transportation till the nearby square from where we continued on foot exploring the city centre. We walked through underground tunnels and visited some of the sights: St Marko's Church, Zagreb's oldest Pharmacy, Plato Gradec from where we explored the view of the Cathedral towers, Stone gate and the statue of St. Juraj, Zagreb funicular which the oldest one in this region and Zagreb Cathedral. We also visited a playground where we met new friends and played and we visited Dolac market where we shopped for fruits and flowers.

Day at the Zagreb zoo

The day at the zoo was though of as a whole day activity for all children - we had our lunch packages delivered to us at the zoo.

Like previous time, we took public transportation (bus and a tram) to reach park Maksimir where the zoo is situated.

Upon our arrival we spent our time exploring the zoo, animals and their habitants. Children were free to set the pace in which we explored and to pursue their interests and curiosity.

After our time in the zoo, we explored The Echo Pavilion and played in the playground as we waited for the parents to collect their children.
