Digital Tools in Science and Math - Microscope and geometry activities

We at Stormhattens förskola are quite experienced with incorporating technology in our every day exploration and activities. Tho goal when incorporating technology and digital tools is to develop a child's ability to identify technology in everyday life, and explore how simple technology works,

Digital tools we use are made available to children to use in their free explorations as well as in other types of activities.

Using digital tools and exploring science with the children

One day we pick from the forest, moss, leaves and sticks. We examined the material with a microscope, what we could not see just with the eye. We also watched ice that we had frozen in the freezer overnight. To help, we had iPad that we had connected with a microscope. For this you need to download an app called UCAM, and a small digital microscope

Goals

The preschool should strive to ensure that each child develop their interest and understanding of the different cycles in nature, and how plants, animals, and also simple chemical processes and physical changes take place.

Using digital tools and exploring geometry with the children

When the children show interest in different activities, we also integrated our digital tools. It will be a helpful tool for the children to make use of in a natural way.
