Visiting Stormahattens förskola

Stormhatten förskola is situated at the center of the village Knislinge. Many of the children have different cultural backgrounds. It is very important to us to make every child feel that they are welcome. It is organized in three sections, all named after figures in a Swedish comic book for small children. There are totally 60 children and 15 employees.
Stormhatten förskola was our host in our transnational teacher Training activity. Through the topics, we were introduced with different ways on how to incorporate and use information and communication technologies in every day exploration and teaching activities.
Since we have all heard interesting and very positive things about Swedish educational system we were very curious about how it actually happens and who are the key figures that enable it.
We began our exploration in a very active, hands-on approached that gave us an insight in the Swedish way of life. One of the things we noticed was that being mobile and active in every sense of word is very important there and that it's reflects in all aspects of life in Skane.
Each topic was approached through very valuable and insightful examples of good practice (visiting different educational institutions), which were followed up with theoretical background and explanations.

This mobility was a very educational experience with more than just the educations that gave us an opportunity to learn. Spending time observing how people live and how the city breaths, we were quite surprised how different it all is from where we come from but also got new ideas on how to start a change back at home.
