Nogomet

In our playground, the boys, occasionally accompanied by a girl or two, often like to play football. They get organized on their own and put together the teams.

They are really enthusiastic about famous football players, they like to put on a famous player's jersey, sneakers etc, like for example Ronaldo's, Messi's or some Slovenian football player's jersey.

I took the chance and asked the children to bring a few objects that are associated with various ball games from home. One girl brought a tennis ball, another one brought a table tennis racket and a ball, the boys brought their jerseys, goalkeeper gloves, a Slovenian flag, Olimpija football club's flags, Slovenian national team's flags. We also talked about basketball, volleyball, handball…

However, most of our time, discussions and matches were dedicated to football.

I asked the children to create their group's logo. We created two teams of children that wanted to play football, equipped ourselves with different color T-shirts and exchanged the flags. We picked Blaž as a judge; he discussed basic football rules with the players and then we were ready for the game to begin.

We invited the children from other groups to watch the game. They enthusiastically watched the game from a nearby hill. This time the other team won 2:0, but we promised each other a rematch.

We exchanged each other's team's flags like real football teams do, and shook each other's hands.
