Our kindergarten visited the remote country of Iceland. We attended creative activities using wool, felt, and fulling with a needle.

In Reykjavik, while we were visiting the school, the school's teacher and painter showed us pictures of Icelandic landscape, created by an Icelandic artist.
I tried out the technique on my own as well and later hung it on my wall at home as a memory.

In the street, boasting the famous Evangelical church, we found Slovenian honey at a store and were very proud of its manufacturer, a gentleman from Prekmurje.
A memory of this unique land is still hanging on my wall. Impressions and satisfaction from looking at a picture.
After our Iceland visit we inspected the interesting objects from the bag together with the children – the bag was a present from the Icelandic teachers and children.
I was especially aware of the boy with an ASP disorder that put the Icelandic wool flag on his belly and played with it and stroked it. He enjoyed the softness of the wool.

I gifted a piece of volcanic rock to the boy who presented a volcanic eruption at the kindergarten. His eyes sparkled, I noticed the gratitude immediately. The next day the boy's father thanked me again and told me how carefully the boy treated the rock. He held in his hands while showing it to the whole family.
After we unfolded the pouch, we noticed a tic tac toe board drawn at the bottom. The children then tested it out in pairs. There were also some smooth and some rough black pebbles in the pouch. We wondered what the difference in their texture had been caused by, and came to a conclusion that the smooth pebbles had been polished by the sea. Some of the children were familiar with the game already and the others were not.
We have to learn about the game with a sheep bone, we need to learn the rules.
I brought some black fennel candy back from Iceland for the children to try. They smelled them and tasted them. For some of them, the flavor was too strong and they did not want to eat them.
