The Meeting in Zagreb

The first part of our first transnational meeting took place in the Kindergarten Horizons in the lovely city of Samobor.

The meeting was preceded by a visit to the City Office where we met The Head of Administrative Department of Social Services Juro Horvat who explained to us all the details about the educational system and with whom we exchanged our international experiences.

On our meeting we officially introduced the partners and discussed about our three primary objectives:

1. Addressing underachievement in basic skills of maths, science and literacy through more effective and innovative ways

2. Strengthening the profile of teaching profession

3. Lifelong learning perspective through improving achievements and transversal competences.

We presented the digital platforms that will carry this project and reflected on our first trimester activities.

We explained about the project web page and the project Facebook page making further plans in creating and opening the project on eTwinning - a platform for educators.

As we reflected on what we did in the first trimester of our project we once again congratulated our partners from the 1st Primary School of the Port of Hersonisos on the wining logo. We went through the international calendar we created for this project with a special accent on its purpose and significance. We also announced and discussed the events planned for us in the second trimester.

We discussed our expectations and responsibilities both to each other as partners and towards the European Commission. We announced the evaluation processes that will take place within the project as well as the Transnational teacher-training activities that are to take place through out the project.

We finished our meeting with a small review on motivation as an important factor for our project both in approaching teaching staff and children/pupils.
